Buttermilk Chocolate Cookies

These cookies are a tab bit on the ugly side, but definitely super tasty and worth trying out. I was intrigued because the recipe called for buttermilk -- strange, right? They're a bit on the tangy side because of the addition of buttermilk, but I got used to the flavor and ended up really enjoy them. One note -- definitely let these babies sit out (covered) overnight. I thought they tasted a bit off when they first came out of the oven but they definitely improve with time. They're sort of fudgy and crunchy/crackly at the same time -- yum!
Also, if you're into drinking buttermilk (like I am...) these cookies taste amazing dunked in a cup of buttermilk. So good.
